THUMBNAIL

DESCRIPTION
Vietnamese know that loss of forest cover leads to an increase in flooding. The greedy man in this picture cares more about the price he can get to export (xuat khau) the last tree. The cartoon is also a subtle comment on competing government priorities, since the government both controls all exports and protects watersheds and forest.

Here is a stump with a restaurant on top. The sign Thit Rung Bay Mon advertises "Forest Meat - Seven Styles of Dish". This is a play on the fashion of holding a banquet featureing a single kind of meat in a variety of ways.
