May I show you our wedding photo. Our ceremony was on October 13th, 1994 but the certificate was signed 10.10.94, which was the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi from French control. I think there is a hidden meaning in that. Anyway it was all a surprise to me.
The participants include my good friends in the wedding party. From left to right they are Mr Nguyen Huy Quang (Public Health School, Ministry of Public Health), Mr Magistrate, Mrs Khuat Thi Thanh Son, a stunned mullet, Professor Cao Van Sung (Director, Institute for Ecology and Biological Resources, National Centre for Natural Sciences and Technology), Mr Vu Ngoc Thanh (Faculty of Biology, National University of Hanoi).
For those of you who do not know Rob Hurle, here he is - on the left. Son, again, is on the right in a favourite red coat.
Rob heads the Coombs Computing Unit and when he is not handling user requests and toying with Unix software, he is working on the Internet link between Hanoi and the rest of the World (via Australia). This has been an arduous job and not without its frustrations. However, Rob and his many supporters, have managed very well.
Rob is not family, that I know of, but he is a nice guy. Those are some extended family photos.
