Photos of Phuoc Buu Coastal Reserve

The Western portion of the nature reserve fringes on the Eastern Sea and is predominantly on soils of sandy character. Low, broken forest cover on a range of soils, never-the-less produces a remarkable diversity of plant life.

1. Forest Protection Department
Station at the Phuoc Buu entrance
of the reserve. And a guard dog!

2. Sandy soils and broken forest with
a burnt log as evidence of fire.

3. A scene on the road near the
centre of the nature reserve.

4. Sand in a ditch,
with grey to red hard clay.

5. Even this fairly poor
soil produces good under-
growth. Here, lianas coil
near the forest floor.

6. A votive temple in the
centre of the nature reserve.
