The Australia Vietnam Science-Technology Link started as the Australian Committee for Scientific Cooperation with Viet Nam. Somewhere in the mid-1990's it became a sort of pseudo-NGO focusing on the Environment. From 1998, when I worked with UNDP in Ha Noi, AVSL became a name for a large number of email lists, many of which I still manage. I collaborate with the VUFO-NGO Centre in Ha Noi to develop a sustainable, local human networking service. I do this because it helps Viet Nam and it is nice to be kind to people. I have no funding and no staff.
Many of the web pages below were created in the 1990s. Some are new or improved. I have gone on to do a great many other webbish things. And the world has changed a lot from these simple web pages which I once created with nothing more than a text editor - that is why they may look so strange to you. This is how the Internet got strarted.
