Supplied note: "The Chinese Geographic Names page is a reference tool for librarians and library users to accommodate the romanization change from Wade-Giles to Pinyin in Chinese place names.
Special features of this page are: 1. Comparison between Wade-Giles, Pinyin, former LC Subject Headings (English-language forms), revised Subject Headings (forms used by the U. S. Board on Geographic Names), and Chinese script. 2. Tables containing different levels of Chinese geographical regions and political jurisdictions, with links from provinces and regions to their individual cities and counties; 3.
