Digital Map of Tibet
Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, USA
Supplied note:
"I am working on a Tibet map for some time and finally managed to get
time to create the relief map of Tibet by using GTOPO30 (Global 30 Arc
Second Elevation Data Set) and DCW (Digital Chart of the World) data.
[Now] I exported the relief map into .jpg image and put it on my page.
[...]
I am also planning to put the map on our Internet Map
Server - which will make the map interactive such as zoom in, zoom out,
identify roads, rivers, elevation etc. of interested area. [...]
I am also working on a project to develop a Thesaurus of Tibetan Geographic
Names. I do have a database of foreign geographic feature names developed
by the former Defense Mapping Agency, USA. The Chinese place names in this
database is updated up to 1996. In order to develop the above project, I am
doing a research on various Tibetan geographic names. If there are any
institution/person doing a similar research on the above subject, please let
me know so that I can interact with them/you."

"The Asian Studies WWW Monitor (ISSN 1329-9778) was established
21 April 1994. Exactly five years and 81 issues later the Monitor

L'Atlas Historique de Shanghai
Institut d'Asie Orientale, Universite Lumiere-Lyon 2, France
Self-description:
