THE ASIAN STUDIES WWW MONITOR

http://coombs.anu.edu.au/asia-www-monitor.html

- timely, accurate, consistent and impartial information -

Edited by: Dr T.Matthew Ciolek

"The Asian Studies WWW Monitor" (ISSN 1329-9778) was originally established 21 April 1994 under a title "What's New in WWW Asian Studies" as a part of the Asian Studies WWW Virtual Library

"The Asian Studies WWW Monitor" is published by the Internet Publications Bureau, Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies at the Australian National University (ANU). The Journal regularly monitors new developments in the Asian Studies' cyberspace and compiles timely, accurate, consistent and impartial summaries and evaluations of the latest web sites and other online information systems relevant to social sciences research of the Asia and the Pacific region.

"The Asian Studies WWW Monitor" acts as a current awareness bulletin for a broad range of readers: academics, students, librarians, journalists, business people, government administrators and the wider on- and off-line community.

All resources listed below are inspected and rated in terms of the scholarly/factual quality and usefulness of their content to the Asian Studies' research. All ratings reflect the Editor's judgment without 'fear or favour', and are not negotiable. Also, all links are categorized according to the following system: (1) News (information about recent events; postings of mailing lists); (2) Documents (numerical data, translations of documents, photographs, images, maps, bibliographies, databases with raw textual information); (3) Study (interpretations, analyses, discussions); (4) Corporate Info (details of individuals, organisations, institutions, events [eg. conferences]); (5) Online Guides (catalogs of online resources, databases of links).
Details of location, nature and usefulness are correct for the date each of the networked site was accessed, inspected and evaluated by the Journal. Naturally, due to the great volatility of the Internet, it is possible that details of the resources identified below might have changed since the time they were reported by this Journal.

Daily announcements and contents' summaries published in the web edition of the Journal are disseminated also on the network via a mailing list. To join this free service send e-mail
