"The Asian Studies WWW Monitor" (ISSN 1329-9778) was established 21 April 1994. The journal, a pioneering and the only publication of this kind in the world, provides daily abstracts and reviews of new/updated online resources of significance to research, teaching and communications dealing with Asian Studies. It is published by the Internet Publications Bureau, RSPAS, National Institute for Asia and the Pacific, ANU. The periodical forms a key element of the global, cooperative project Asian Studies WWW Virtual Library. For further details see a page About the Asian Studies WWW Monitor. The journal is complemented by its sister publication Pacific Studies WWW Monitor which was established in April 2000.

Daily contents' summaries and evaluations published in the web edition of the Journal are disseminated also on the network via a mailing list.

[Extract: "On December 14, 2003, a powerful explosion [...] damaged a bridge in a densely populated locality of the Rawalpindi Cantonment hardly a minute after a car carrying President Pervez Musharraf from the Chaklala airport to his residence (the Army House) and the other vehicles in his convoy had passed over it. [...]. There were no human casualties. [...] The two previous conspiracies directed against Musharraf were attributed by the Pakistani authorities to the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen Al-Alami (meaning HUM-International), a wing of the HUM, which is a founding member of the IIF since February,1998. Since the beginning of this year, there have been one anti-Pakistan message attributed to bin Laden and two anti-Musharraf messages attributed to Ayman al-Zawahiri, his No.2." - b.raman]
