Asian Cultural History Tour, Fall 2003
Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI, USA
Supplied note: "Like our Fall Semester European tour, the Asian Cultural History Tour [ACHT] offers a full 15 hours of undergraduate credit in compatible subjects: history, art, religion, mythology, linguistics, and political science. But the ACHT looks beyond the relative familiarity of European cultures to ancient Eastern traditions and to current challenges facing densely populated Asian countries. The ACHT is an unprecedented opportunity to travel to China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam with experienced faculty while earning a full semester's worth of credit in four subjects taught in an interdisciplinary context. This is truly a unique learning experience, offered at a price that in many cases is not much more than the cost of a semester on campus."
