"The Asian Studies WWW Monitor" (ISSN 1329-9778) was established 21 April 1994. The periodical forms a key element of the global, cooperative project Asian Studies WWW Virtual Library. For further details of this Internet publication from the Publications and Studies Bureau, RSPAS, National Institute of Asian and Pacific Studies, ANU see a page About the Asian Studies WWW Monitor. The journal is complemented by its sister publication Pacific Studies WWW Monitor which was established in April 2000.

[...] OBL "is an evolving project designed to make full texts of Burma documents accessible online to Burmese and non-Burmese researchers, academics, educators, students, journalists, officials, diplomats, activists, colonels et al. It functions as a linked, annotated catalogue to much of the Burma material already on the Internet and will eventually house a number of archives (in addition to the Burma Press Summary which is already on the site) and directories such as the Burma Action Database (formerly Burma Action Directory)."

Supplied note: "The Atlas Mutual Heritage (VOC settlements) is an expanding database [...] which deals with the VOC (Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie, 1602-1800) heritage in Africa and Asia. The Atlas Mutual Heritage is the result of an intensive co-operation between the Algemeen Rijksarchief, the Rijksdienst voor de Monumentenzorg and the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. [...] In its current form the AMH (VOC settlements) comprises [...] an overview of locations (forts and outposts) in Africa and Asia established by the VOC in the 17th and 18th centuries [305 sites from Aden, Agra, Ahmadabad, and Ai to Waai, Waeputih, Weligama, Wetar, Wynberg, and Yala. - ed.] . [...and ] images of these locations that are contained in the collections of the Algemeen Rijksarchief, the Rijksdienst voor de Monumentenzorg and the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum. (Later versions will incorporate additional collections [and topics, such as overseas missions and expeditions - ed.]). In this first version the Atl as Mutual Heritage comprises ca. 2350 images: 335 paintings, drawings and prints, 473 manuscript charts and maps, 1542 photographs of overseas monuments in the West and in the East."
