Coverage: Mainly English-language works (some Dutch and other European languages) on Indonesia in the Library of Congress. Emphasis on modern Indonesia with some bias towards United States' involvement in Indonesia.

Structure: Two volumes. Includes indexes. Entries generally are not annotated but are based on LC catalogue entries and are arranged into 30 subject categories. LC card number provided, as are name, subject and title indexes. Useful overviews of the contents of each chapter, e.g., chapter on ethnic groups has a list of ethnic groups at the beginning of the chapter.

Evaluation: A mammoth work, the result of a personal lifetime commitment to informing the government and people of the United States about Indonesia. Extremely useful guide to perhaps the most extensive collection of published material on modern Indonesia. "The most extensive bibliography of books on Indonesia to be published for general use" (Introduction).
