Title: Indonesian law 1949-1989 : a bibliography of foreign-language materials with brief commentaries on the law, edited by S. Pompe. Dordrecht / Boston, M. Nijhoff Publishers, 1992. xxxii, 439p., 25 cm. ISBN 0792317440.
Coverage: An "overview of publications on Indonesian law in non-Indonesian languages since 1949". "Does not pretend to be complete" (Preface). Includes both books and articles. Because of the difficulty of accessing Indonesian legal material and of finding complete sets of legal documents, there is a greater dependence on secondary sources for Indonesian law than for that of most Western countries. Most of the material listed is in the Van Vollenhoven Institute in Leiden.
No. of items: 3,817
Structure: Arranged by type of law; constitutional law, administrative law, criminal law, civil law, adat law, etc. Subdivided by further specialisation or by date. Provides succinct summaries of the various fields of law and the information available on them at the head of each section. Includes bibliographical references, author index and index of legislation.
Evaluation: Excellent.
