"The Pacific Studies WWW Monitor" (ISSN 1443-8976) was established 12 April 2000. It is modelled on its sister publication Asian Studies WWW Monitor which was established in April 1994. The periodical forms a key element of the global, cooperative project Pacific Studies WWW Virtual Library.
Daily announcements and contents' summaries published in the web edition of the Journal are disseminated also on the network via a mailing list. To join this free service (a) send e-mail to: majordomo@coombs.anu.edu.au (b) message: subscribe pacific-www-monitor your-email-address.

Hawaiian Newspapers, War Records, and Trust Territory Image Repository

Self-description: "Hawaiian Language Newspapers: Images of Hawaiian language newspapers published from 1834 to 1948. The newspapers include stories, chants, photographs and advertisements, political notices and letters to the editor and document a unique period in Hawaiian and American history. They also present the Hawaiian view of historical events, genealogy and culture.
Hawaii War Records Depository: Holds war-time photographs from the Hawai'i War Records Depository (HWRD), which was created in 1943 to document the impact of the war upon Hawai'i and its populace. HWRD has about 1,325 photographs; approx. 300 are clearly identified from Hawaii's two major English newspapers and have been scanned with permission.
Trust Territory Photo Archives: The Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands included the Micronesian archipelagoes of the Marshalls, Carolines and Marianas during the U.S. administrative period from 1947 to 1994. The archive contains over 52,000 photographs and approximately 8,000 have been scanned. The photographs visually document nearly 50 years of the U.S. administration's programs in education, health, political and economic development."
