Institute of Pacific Relations (IPR) archival holdings
Hamilton Library, University of Hawai'i at Manoa, Honolulu, USA
Self-description: "The headquarters of the Institute of Pacific Relations was located in Honolulu until in the mid-1930s. After the move of the general secretariat to New York City, the local Honolulu Branch of IPR continued active in the organization. In 1953 Honolulu Branch of IPR renamed itself the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council (PAAC) and severed its connections with the international IPR. [...] Although most of the materials in the University of Hawai'i collection are copies, it is possible that some originals have not survived. When originals have survived, it is most likely they are among the IPR records at Butler Library, Columbia University in New York City. Other significant collections of manuscript materials related to the Institute of Pacific Relations are the IPR holdings at the University of British Columbia and the E.C. Carter Papers in Bailey-Howe Library at the University of Vermont. "
