"The CESRAN was founded [in Dec 2008 - ed.] by a group of PhD students who are interested in world politics, and enthusiastic about contributing to the field of international relations as not only academics, but also practitioners. For the time being, the CESRAN is an internet-based think tank. The underlying motive behind the foundation of the CESRAN is a need to bridge the gap between the students of international relations and practitioners of international politics. [...] The CESRAN has no allegiance to any government, or to any political or other organisation."
