The National Bureau of Asian Research has released its latest report on technology standards and innovation policy in China. Authored by distinguished experts Scott Kennedy, Richard P. Suttmeier, and Jun Su, the report is based on the findings of an NBR conference held in Beijing, China, in October 2007 as well as on extensive research by the authors, including discussions with key business leaders and policymakers in China, Europe, and the United States.
Representing the culmination of the third phase of NBR's ongoing research initiative, the report examines both China's efforts to develop its own standards and its evolving role in international standards-setting bodies and assesses the implications and prospects for the success of these efforts.
