"The Irish Institute for Chinese Studies (IICS), formerly known as UCD Centre for Chinese Studies (established in January 2006), was officially launched on 26th September 2006.
[...] The IICS aims to work with government, business and academia in Ireland and China to create stronger educational, cultural and commercial links between Ireland and China.
The primary functions and objectives of the IICS are:
* To increase recruitment of Chinese students through partnership programmes;
* To offer degree pathways in Chinese Studies to home students;
* To develop an international research profile in Chinese Studies;
* To facilitate development of economic and cultural links between Ireland and China;
* To provide the government and business with professional consultancy services."
