Supplied note: "The South Asian Studies Alliance is pleased to announce that Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles will host SASA’s foundation South Asia Conference April 27-29, 2007. The conference theme is 'South Asia Engaged.' We are living in a time of rapid change in change in South Asia. The region is increasingly integrated into the world at large in every way imaginable. Globalization, cultural outreach, social evolution, diplomatic exchanges, basic research, and the dynamic of its Diaspora number among of myriad ways in which South Asia is engaged with the 21st century. The program committee welcomes submissions in all aspects of South Asian studies, particularly those involving this theme. The proposal deadline is February 18, 2007.
