Supplied note: "Wittenberg University will be hosting a conference honoring the scholarship and teaching of Prof. James Huffman. The conference, 'Japan and the World,' will begin on Friday, November 10, 2006, with a keynote address, by Pulitzer-prize winner, John Dower, who will set the cross-national tone with 'Cultures of War: Pearl Harbor, Hiroshima, and 9-11.' The conference will run Saturday, November 11, in non-concurrent sessions and will feature four sessions: * Journalism and Media in Japan; * Japanese Imperialism; * People's History of Japan; * Teaching East Asia and the World In addition, the Midwest Japan Seminar will hold its meeting in conjunction with Japan and the World conference. The program, registration materials, and travel information are available at the conference website. - tp."
