Supplied note: "Wittenberg University will be hosting a conference honoring the scholarship and teaching of Prof. James Huffman. The conference, 'Japan and the World,' will begin on Friday, November 10, 2006, with a keynote address, by Pulitzer-prize winner, John Dower, who will set the cross-national tone with 'Cultures of War: Pearl Harbor, Hiroshima, and 9-11.' The conference will run Saturday, November 11, in non-concurrent sessions and will feature four sessions: * Journalism and Media in Japan; * Japanese Imperialism; * People's History of Japan; * Teaching East Asia and the World In addition, the Midwest Japan Seminar will hold its meeting in conjunction with Japan and the World conference.
