The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy is convening a conference from 4th - 6th April 2005 on 'Managing Globalisation: Lessons from China and India' in conjunction with its official opening by Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. The Conference will bring together scholars of China and India to share and discuss their research findings in four areas:
* Challenges, Opportunities and Responses to Globalisation
* Ethnicity and Identity in the New World
* Social Security and Governance
* National Security in the Age of Globalisation

This Conference will be co-sponsored by our School, Asia Society (New York) and Brookings Institution, in collaboration with the East Asian Institute and the Institute of South Asian Studies of NUS. Professor Roderick MacFarquhar, the Leroy B. Williams Professor of History and Political Science at Harvard University will co-chair the Conference with Dean Kishore Mahbubani. Dr Vishakha N. Desai, President of Asia Society, Professor Mary Jo Bane, Thorton Bradshaw Professor of Public Policy and Management at the Kennedy School of Government and Mr Strobe Talbott, President of Brookings Institution, will also chair a session each."
