"Casa Asia es una institucion publica fruto de un convenio entre el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, la Generalitat de Catalunya y el Ayuntamiento de Barcelona. Esta institucion fue constituida el 9 de noviembre de 2001 y se enmarca dentro de los objetivos establecidos en el Plan Marco Asia-Pacifico 2000-2002, que sienta las bases de una politica de Estado para reforzar la presencia espanola en la region ya que Asia y el Pacifico constituyen un objetivo estrategico de la Politica Exterior de Espana."
