[Extract: "According to a 1998 study of the International Drug Control Programme of the UN, the international illicit drug business generates an estimated $400 billion in trade annually, which is about 8% of all legal international trade and roughly equivalent to the total turnover of the textile industry in all the countries of the world put together.
