E-Tutor for the Sanskrit
Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India
Supplied note: "I am writing to draw your attention to a tutor for the Sanskrit Language that a student of mine and I have created. The software is freely downloadable from our website [see below - ed.].
The version which is presented at this time is intended for IBM PCs under Windows; but since the package has been created in Java - a platform-neutral programming language - a little modification will enable it to be run on any type of computer that can be used to surf the web. (The only reason why I cannot at this time provide a version for the Apple, or other type of computer, is because I don't have access to any but IBM PCs.)
The package is not quite complete, yet. At this time we are offering four Chapters and a section on diacritics; but more will shortly be added. (Even this means 1.5 million lines of code, however!) I will be grateful if you can visit the website, download the tutor, and give me the benefit of your opinion. - sk."
Site contents: About; Chapter Previews; Introduction; Vowels; Consonants; Conjuncts; Word Building; Sandhi; The Sanskrit; Verbs; Declensions; Special Cases; Simple Sentences; Credits; Download the Software
