"The Chinese News Reader [launched 1 Nov 2003 - ed.] is a free, web-based tool that allows users to read about the week's current events in Chinese without the need for a print dictionary. The Reader applet displays short excerpts from the most recent edition of the Hua Xia Wen Zhai online news magazine. The user can click on any unfamiliar character or compound word to display its pinyin and a brief English definition. - dp."
