Supplied note: "Durham University has, without consultation or due cause decided to close this eminent department in the UK. Academics from the UK have protested about this short-sighted move. Other supporters of the campaign to prevent the closure of the department include the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the Government. However, the campaign needs global support.
