[...] Declining fertility, increased life expectancy, increased population mobility, labour migration, rapid urbanisation and HIV/AIDS have led to rapid changes in population structures in Asia and the Pacific. These changes have widespred implications for health, education, economic growth, environmental sustainability, access to land, employment, poverty reduction, peace and stablity. Leading experts in demography, development, health, economics and population studies will address these issues and their implications for development and development policy in the Asia-Pacific region.
