The purpose of the institute is to bring together scholars from
a wide range of disciplines and foster research on Sri Lanka [...] AISLS activities are
divided into four programs:
1. Fellowship Program;

3. Support for Sri Lankan Studies in the United States;
4. Preservation and Dissemination of Research Information and Materials."
