"There will be a symposium entitled 'Traders as Historians: Studying
Southeast Asian History from the Dutch East India (VOC) Records' on [Fri] 6
September [2002] at the National Institute of Education in Singapore. The
symposium is sponsored by the Royal Netherlands Embassies in Singapore
and Malaysia and my department, Humanities and Social Studies Education,
is organizing it. [...] The symposium is open to all free of charge (this means a set of papers
plus refreshments all day), but the number of places is limited.
