It covers a huge scale of information concerning arts & humanities, social sciences and science. [... from] a wide geographical area ranging from the Russian Far East to Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Japan. This guide makes use of entries of the homepage of the European Association of Sinological Librarians [www.easl.org - ed.], the China WWW Virtual Library [www.sino.uni-heidelberg.de/igcs - ed. ] and the Asian Studies WWW Virtual Library [coombs.anu.edu.au/WWWVL-AsianStudies.html - ed.]. The resources are catalogued [... using a modified] and shortened version of the 'Basisklassifikation' which is used in the 'Gemeinsamer Bibliotheksverbund'. [...] Chinese characters are GB encoded; Japanese characters are EUC, Korean characters are KSC encoded. "
