Self-description: "'Inside Indonesia' has been published quarterly by the Indonesian Resources and Information Programme (IRIP) since 1983. Inside Indonesia gets behind the soundbite and the official propaganda. Every three months, it keeps you informed about the real Indonesia. Looking for something fresh on: the end of Suharto, the economic crisis? Street children, eco-tourism, East Timor? Communal clashes in Kalimantan, the Freeport mine? Or perhaps human interest stories from around the country, book and film reviews, Internet resources? [...] IRIP comprises academic specialists on Indonesia, members of overseas aid agencies, development action groups and trade unions in Australia. It aims to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between the peoples of Indonesia and Australia and elsewhere, and to increase international awareness of issues facing Indonesian people today.
