Nuclear Stability in South Asia
Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis (IFPA), Cambridge, MA/Washington DC, USA
Self-description:
"This recently published study [by Andrew C. Winner and Toshi Yoshihara - ed.] [...] examines current
and future Indian and Pakistan nuclear forces and doctrines. It also reviews past
crises between the two states to identify patterns of escalation and
de-escalation. It then posits potential future crises and how they may escalate
to involve the use of nuclear weapons.
Finally, based on this analysis, it provides policy recommendations for the U.S.
government that could reduce the possibility that India and/or Pakistan would
use nuclear weapons against one another in the future."
