Self-description: "Third Australia-Malaysia Conference, 27 Feb-1 Mar 2002, The Australian National University, Canberra, Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies, 'Malaysian Industry in the New Century: Where is it Now, and Where is it Going?' [...] This Conference will involve invited papers by thirteen distinguished Malaysian and Australian scholars, businesspersons, trade union representatives, and politicians. It will comprise two days' of papers and associated discussions, and a further day including a workshop for researchers on Malaysia, showings of films about Malaysia, an exhibition of Malaysian photographs, and special panel discussions for non-government groups, business-people and others [...]. The Conference is the third in a highly successful biennial series, with the first meeting taking place in Nov, 1997, and the second in May, 2000. "
