A Visual Sourcebook for Chinese Civilization
University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA
Supplied note: "This site was designed as supplemental teaching material for teachers of college or high school Chinese history or culture classes. It consists of ten units on geography, ancient tombs, Buddhism, calligraphy, military technology, painting, homes, gardens, clothing, and graphic arts. Each has 50 to 150 images, along with commentary, captions, questions, sources, suggested readings, and so on. "
[The site publishes a series of elegant maps showing China's national and internal boundries at various historical periods. However, the maps do not state the sources on which they are based, nor do they state their scales - ed.]
