Indonesian Regional Government Profiles and News
Infoproda (Informas Promosi Daerah), Indonesia Research Unit, Gold Group Asia/Pacific, Jakarta, Indonesia
Supplied note: "Research profiles on Indonesia's local governments and their officials [...] Through Indonesia's new autonomy laws, 340 local governments now have significant authority for mining, forests, industry, trade, investment, environment, public works, health, education, culture, agriculture, communications, manpower, etc. From the bottom of the government 'food chain' they have now moved to the top in key sectors. But what is the current state of each of the 268 regencies and 72 cities and who are the officials running them? The Gold Group's Informasi Promosi 'Daerah Indonesia research unit will deliver its landmark, six-volume Report on Indonesia's Autonomous Local Governments' to foundation subscribers on August 6 [2001], Gold Group CEO, Mr Geoffrey Gold, announced in Jakarta today. Mr Gold said subscribers will also access data on-line at [the URL below] website which already provides free services to visitors including autonomy news and direct links to national, provincial and Local Government administrations."
