Manushi: A Journal About Women and Society
Manushi, New Delhi, India
Self-description:
"Manushi, founded in 1978, is a serious journal which aims to bridge
the gap between academic/scholarly writing and popular literature. The
magazine analyses political, economic and social issues from a
people-oriented perspective. One of the main goals of Manushi is to
build an information-gathering process about the life situations of
the people of different communities within India. This is done through
articles on women's lives and work, civil liberties and human rights
issues, interviews, historical pieces, film and book reviews, fiction,
poetry, and responses from readers."
