Northern Pakistan's Rock Carvings and Inscriptions

Site contents: A series of pages in German on (1) Buddhist rock carvings and inscriptions along the Indus river; (2) Jataka representations at Chilas and Shatial; (3) Horse representations in rock drawings in the upper Indus region; (4) Images of stupas and temples from rock carvings near Chilas; (5) Lokapalas and Caturmaharajikas in rock drawings near Chilas and Thalpan. The site also contains a number of minimalistically annotated photographs from fieldwork (1981-1984) in Altit, Bubur, Chilas, Danyor, Haldeikish, Hunza, Oshibat, and Thalpan.
