Rahmat Ali (1897-1951), Founder of Pakistan
rahmatali.com, Cambridge, UK
Self-description:
"A Cambridge University law student, Rahmat Ali, has played a crucial
role in Pakistan history. Rahmat Ali coined the name 'Pakistan' and
initiated a movement for its realisation in 1933 with the publication
of his Pakistan Declaration (Now or Never), which led to the Pakistan
or Lahore Resolution seven years later and eventually to the
establishment of the country in 1947. He has, hence, been called the
'Founder of Pakistan' and ranks among Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah
(Father of Pakistan) and Allama Iqbal (Poet-Philosopher).
This [site] is dedicated to his life and works."
