The rich history of this tiny prefecture includes the birthplace of Kukai along the Buddhist Pilgrimage of Shikoku and the syncretic Shinto mecca of Kompira-san. Folk legends and arts are also detailed by Akiko Takemoto et al. In English with some Japanese (Shift-JIS), especially for proper nouns and pilgrimage temple hymns."
