"The CIFP project, initiated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and
International Trade and Norman Paterson School of International
Affairs, represents an on-going effort to identify and assemble
statistical information conveying the key features of the economic,
political, social and cultural environments of countries around the
world. The CIFP database can be queried in four ways: By Region - View
regional snapshots, compare regions on key indicators, obtain
time-series for regional data, and more; By Issue Area - View top 10
and bottom 10 lists for key indicators; By Regional and Global
Organization - Collect data grouped by dozens of inter-governmental
organizations; Through the Quick Query page - Advanced users can
choose the data they need using drop-down list boxes. To learn about
these features, visit the Getting Started section. To get a user name
and password, visit the Register section."
