Korean War Children's Memorial
Korean War Children's Memorial, Washington, USA
Self-description:
"On August 11, 2001 a unique Korean War memorial will dedicated in a
small park in Bellingham, Washington. The memorial, in the form of a
traditional slate-tiled Korean temple roof atop four poles, will honor
the humanitarian aid the American service men and women rendered the
children of Korea during the time of conflict [1950-1953] and for
years thereafter."
Supplied note: "I estimate that the American armed forces saved the
lives of over 10,000 children and probably helped over 100,000 kids in
one way or another while over there. -- G.F.Drake."
Site contents: Ceremonies, Memories, War Child, Get Involved.
[A site under construction. Stories, articles and photos from Korean War
veterans will be frequently added. - ed.]
