It provides a world-wide communications vehicle for exchange of scholarly and factual information on history, geography, anthropology and logistics of traditional short and long-distance movement, communication and transportation networks of the world. The mailing list has a special focus on research and construction of ECAI (www.ecai.org) compliant geo/chrono-referenced electronic data on the land, river and maritime trade routes of Eurasia and Africa during the period 10,000 BCE - 1815 CE."
