Thai National Cultural Digital Archive (NCDA)
Office of National Cultural Commission in Thailand (ONCC), Bangkok, Thailand
Supplied note:
"The largest online public collection of Thailand's cultural
information. The site, est. 1999, serves articles and data on 50
topics (grouped into 7 major categories: basic province information,
important people and philosophers, places, indigenous knowledge,
life-styles, local goods, literature and manuscripts) for all 76
provinces of Thailand. The information is served from a multimedia
(text, images, video, sound, vrlm) relational database. At present
(Feb 2000) the information is available only in Thai. An English
language version, prepared by a team from Chulalongkorn Univ., is
expected to be ready by the end of 2000. The NCDA project was
personally initiated in 1995 by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn."
