Ilgynly-Depe, archaeological site in
Turkmenistan

Self description:
"Ilgynly-Depe is the monument in southern Turkmenistan. It is a
14 ha site, 240 km SE of Ashgabat and 105 km NE of Mashhad. A
prosperous agricultural community of about 2000 people lived
there in Chalcolithic. The site contains stratigraphically
undisturbed materials of ca. 5000-3000 BC. [Since 1986] the site
was investigated by the Karakum expedition of the Institute of
History of Material Culture (St. Petersburg) of the Russian
Academy of Sciences."
