The Gordon W. Prange Collection

Self-description:
"The Prange Collection is the most comprehensive collection of
Japanese-language materials dating from the Allied Occupation of
Japan, 1945-1952. The Collection comprises virtually everything
published on all subjects during the first four years of the
Occupation, 1945-1949; it includes books, pamphlets, newspapers,
periodicals, and related archival materials. The holdings of the
Collection are vast and extremely rare and cover virtually all subject
areas. The Collection includes: 82,000 books and pamphlets; 16,000
newspaper titles; 640 maps; 13,000 magazine titles; 2,000 newspaper
photos; 90 posters. The Collection also contains approximately 600,000
pages of censorship documents, as well as extensive holdings of news
dispatches (700,000 pages)."
