"A website which focuses on the Government's Semipalatinsk Relief and
Rehabilitation Programme. As some of you may know, Semipalatinsk
received the brunt of the nuclear testing throughout the Soviet
period. Over a 40 year period, 470 atmospheric, surface and
underground explosions were conducted, leaving an array of problems,
largely on the population's health. It is estimated that 1.6 million
people were affected in some way. [...] The programme has a bi-monthly
newsletter. Back issues will be placed on the website."
