Asian Studies WWW Monitor - Electronic Journal
Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies, The Australian
National University, Canberra, Australia
Supplied note:
"The Asian Studies WWW Monitor (ISSN 1329-9778) was established
21 April 1994. Exactly five years and 81 issues later the Monitor
continues to operate as the world's only electronic journal
tracking, recording and evaluating (without fear or favour)
networked resources related to Asian Studies research, teaching
and publishing. The Monitor provides (to quote it's motto) 'timely, accurate,
consistent and impartial information' selected and distilled from
the daily recommendations of hundreds of volunteer collaborators
world-wide. The Monitor's value-added reports are free. They are
provided by the RSPAS, ANU as a service to the world's scholarly
community. The Monitor data are published on the Web, as well as
disseminated on (almost) daily basis via a moderated mailing list
'asia-www-monitor@coombs.anu.edu.au.' Through this and several
interlinked mailing lists the Monitor currently reaches an
audience of approx. 7,000-10,000 scholars, researchers,
administrators and journalists from all parts of the globe."
