Supplied note: "I would like to bring your attention to a new discussion list - PAM-APF@anu.edu.au and a new project to develop communication between science librarians and information specialists in the Asia/Pacific Region. The forum was announced last November [i.e. 1998], and today we have nearly 70 participants, with more joining daily. At present members come from 17 different nations. We will be holding our first 'meeting' at the 'Strait to the future' http://www.alia.org.au/conferences/strait/index.html conference in August 99."
