The Cambodian Genocide Program
Yale University, USA
Self-description:
"The Cambodian genocide, in which at least 1.7 million people lost
their lives, stands as one of the worst human tragedies of the modern
era. [...] The Cambodian Genocide Program aims 1) to collect and
study all extant information about this period [1975-1979] in
Cambodian history, 2) make this information available to a court or
tribunal willing to prosecute Cambodian war criminals, and 3) generate
a critical, analytic understanding of genocide which can be marshaled
in the prevention of political violence against populations elsewhere
in the world."
