"The AKP is a two-semester program [est. 1972] at Doshisha
University in Kyoto, sponsored by a consortium of 15 U.S.
colleges and universities. [...] The curriculum consists of
intensive Japanese language and courses taught in English on
Japanese history, economics, literature, government, art
history, religion, etc. [...] All students live with
homestay families in the Kyoto area."
