leading collections of material relating to the European
discovery, exploration and colonisation of the South Pacific
open[ed] at the National Library of Australia [...].
'Paradise Possessed : the Rex Nan Kivell Collection' features
drawings, landscapes, portraits and prints, manuscripts, books,
rare maps and historical objects from this collection of 15,000
items, which forms part of the central core of the National
Library's holdings."
